Collection: Warriors in the Garden

This collection was inspired by some quotes from a couple of my favorite characters (Musashi Miyamoto and Gandalf the Grey) and a word I recently learned. Biophilia is the innate human tendency to connect with nature and other living things around us. Natural spaces invigorate our sense of liveliness while cold and brutal architecture has us wondering what’s the point in anything. We as humans spent thousands of years running from predators, hunting and gathering and we naturally associate nature and green spaces with survival. 

Viewing natural scenes positively affects recovery of autonomic function following acute mental stress. Translation: basking in the glory of nature, even a representation of nature has calming effects.
