Misogi is a purification ritual in the Shinto tradition of Japan. It involves cleansing the body and mind to purify oneself spiritually and remove impurities or negative energies. Misogi rituals are often performed before important ceremonies, events, or festivals, and they can take various forms depending on the context and purpose.
Traditionally, misogi rituals might involve activities such as standing under a waterfall, bathing in a river or sea, or chanting prayers while being splashed with water. The idea is to immerse oneself in natural elements, such as water, which are considered to have purifying properties in Shinto belief.
